John Turnbull
Q. What is your professional background? Where do (did) you work, and what is/was your role there?
A. I’ve worked in retail management for Hy-Vee 15 years, and I am currently senior procurement buyer for Associated Wholesale Grocers buying for Memphis, Nashville, and Gulf Coast.
Q. How it began: How long have you been off-roading? What drew you to the sport?
A. This is my 6th year with the club and 6th year off roading. Joined after purchasing my first jeep, went to a few events, and the amount of helpful people and knowledge gained made me a member for life.
Q. Passions and Interests: What are your passions and interests related to the club’s activities? What motivated you to join the board?
A. I enjoy all things outdoors: hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, skiing, off-roading, and kayaking to name a few.
Q. Vision: What is your vision for the club’s future? How do you hope to contribute to its growth and success during your tenure on the board?
A. I hope to see this club provide an avenue for others to learn about off roading, use their vehicle to enable other outdoor activities, provide like-minded people a social active club to further their interests.
Q. Community Involvement: Are you involved in any other community organizations or initiatives that align with the club’s values?
A. This is the only club I am active in, but I am an avid outdoorsman and active year-round in many outdoors activities. I have 2 boys 8 and 5 that I want to encourage to learn about and be involved in these wholesome life-skill building activities. They are involved in school and sports which also fills my time.
