Q.  What is your professional background? Where do you work, and what is/was your role there?

A. Originally from Michigan, my life started driving tractors and milking cows on our family farm. After graduating from Michigan State University, I moved to Kansas and fell in love with the Kansas City area. My wife and I lived here for a decade before moving to Houston for work. When given the option, we knew Kansas City was where we wanted to see our daughter grow up and made the move back. I’ve worked in transportation nearly 20 years and I currently manage 4 offices located across the country with a focus on flatbed trucking.

Q.  How it began: How long have you been off-roading? What drew you to the sport?

A.  Outside of riding 4 wheelers on the sand dunes and trails in Michigan as a kid, we didn’t start off-roading until March 2017 when my 5-year-old daughter said she wanted to ride in a car with “No Lid”. We bought a 1999 Jeep TJ, went to Kansas Rocks with a friend one weekend that summer, met 2 Midwest Krawlers members and the rest is history! Even while in Texas we maintained our membership and even met up with club members on the annual trip one year.

Q. Passions and Interests: What are your passions and interests related to the club’s activities? What motivated you to join the board?

A.  I love mechanical things and taught myself fabrication during COVID while building my jeep in my garage. I’m currently working on a 1948 CJ2A project in addition to my 99 TJ. The supportive culture of Midwest Krawlers has always been core to my passion for this sport. When I was a new off-roader so many members showed patience, understanding, and educated me along the way. It’s always been a family group where myself, my wife, and my daughter have all been treated as family. Now it’s my turn to give back! I enjoy seeing newcomers conquer trails and push their limits as much as challenging myself and my rig.

Q.  Vision: What is your vision for the club’s future? How do you hope to contribute to its growth and success during your tenure on the board?

A.  Be active, help each other out, and have fun! It’s what we talked about at every meeting 7 years ago and it’s still true today. As a group we support, lift each other up and make a lot of great memories along the way. Since purchasing a Jeep, I’ve learned so much and met some incredible experience. I hope I can ignite that passion for others in our club.

Q.  Community Involvement: Are you involved in any other community organizations or initiatives that align with the club’s values?

A.  N/A

Just for Fun
Q.  If you had a superpower for a day, what would it be, and how would you use it?

A.  It would have to be the ability to lay the greatest welds you’ve ever seen. I’d do nothing but melt metal all day, dimes stacked on dimes. Do it all for the ‘Gram?!

Q.  If you were a flavor of ice cream, what would you be and why?

A.  Rocky Road of course! What other flavor embodies off-roading more???
